Look at this promise. God says if we delight in His ways, we’ll be like a solidly rooted tree, properly irrigated, and growing strong.
On this day, as we’re serving our favorite dishes, let’s remember the Lord’s recipe for life, health and godliness: keep His ways and His word before our hearts at all time.
Look at this word: prosper. It’s a pushing forward, breaking out, or going over. It’s an active abundance. Even when all looks bleak, God can bring breakthrough! He brings the change we need as we cling to Him, the way Ruth clung to Naomi (Ruth 1:14-17).
Look at the strength He gives. Like trees, we may have to withstand heavy rains, fierce winds and scorching suns. Yet, God watches over us out of His great love for us. He honors our response to Him by causing all things to work for good for us (Romans 8:28).
His will is that we would be so full of His life-giving love that our ability to withstand the storms of life and point to Him as our rescuer would cause Him to be glorified.
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. Isaiah 61:3
Look at what He’s doing. If you’re going through a storm, consider His power to sustain you. Avert your eyes from the negatives of your situation and ask Him to show you the positives.
Think about the beautiful leaves you’re growing. Think about your deep roots. He’s bringing beauty and growth through your circumstances, no matter how tough. May we all have hearts full of gratitude and wonder at His marvelous ways.
